The Carlsbad Fire Department reported a helicopter with two people inside tipped over and crashed at an airport near Carlsbad Wednesday afternoon, San Diego County spokesman Gig Conaughton confirmed.
The incident occurred just before 2 p.m. at McClellan-Palomar Airport.
SkyRanger 7 flew overhead of the crash, spotting the helicopter lying on its side near the airport’s runway.
No fires or injuries were reported. The cockpit was not damaged by the crash.
Palomar Airport Fire, Carlsbad Fire Department and Carlsbad Police Department responded to the incident.
