A Camp Pendleton area school was closed for a second day Tuesday after a a sinkhole caused a road closure nearby.
The sinkhole tore up part of the roadway on Carnes Road near Wire Mountain Road, Camp Pendleton said in a Facebook post at around 11 a.m.
Santa Margarita Elementary School released its student after the sinkhole was discovered, according to one parent who contacted NBC 7.
A tweet from the school confirmed the school was closed on Tuesday.
The Oceanside Unified School District and Camp Pendleton officials are responding to the scene.
No other information was available.
