A body was discovered in the San Diego Bay on Wednesday, the San Diego Harbor Police Department confirmed.
The body was found in the water near where North Harbor Drive meets West Laurel Street, south of the U.S. Coast Guard San Diego Sector headquarters, Harbor Police said.
The body is that of a man, according to Harbor Police Sgt. T.D. De la Pena.
A dive team was called to the scene to help recover the body. The Medical Examiner's office took the body from the scene and will work to identify it and determine a cause and manner of death.
There is a large anchorage lot nearby where people live on boats full time. There is also a boat launch open to the public for recreational vessel use.
No other information was available.
