Students and staff at two high schools in the Poway Unified School District will see an increase in police presence Wednesday after threatening messages were circulated online.
Rancho Bernardo High School was the first school made aware of a threatening message allegedly written on the wall of one of its bathrooms.
The District said custodians searched bathrooms on campus and didn't find messages or threats, and said the backgrounds of the photos of the alleged message didn't match up with any of the restrooms on campus.
The same investigative steps were taken at Westview High School and, like at Rancho Bernardo, no message was found and the backgrounds of the photo didn't match any of its bathrooms.
As a precaution, both campuses, and likely all of the district's high schools, will have an increased police presence on campus Wednesday.
