Greg Bledsoe’s evening forecast for March 31, 2025
Wind and a low cloud ceiling prompted the FAA to order a ground stop on Monday at San Diego International Airport.
At least 80 aircraft were listed as delayed upon arrival at 1 p.m., according to the airport's Flight Status page, including flights operated by Alaska, Air Canada, Southwest, Delta and other airlines. Two hours later, 78 flights arriving were delayed, the page reported, and at 6 p.m., 77 arriving and 54 departing flights had been delayed by the weather.

According to the FAA site, a ground stop of all aircraft at SAN was possible until at least 9 p.m. on Monday night.

NBC 7 meteorologist Greg Bledsoe said visibility at the airport dropped lower than most of the county — down to about a mile by 6 p.m.
"Some really low clouds have moved in. The cloud bases at the airport there are about 200 feet off the ground right now, so that is very low," Bledsoe said.
A low-pressure system to the north brought the first of a series of storms expected this week. San Diego's weather will remain unsettled, and cool with below normal temperatures. The winds will be a factor all the way through Thursday, according to NBC 7 meteorologist Angelica Campos.
