Hundreds of homeless San Diego veterans will receive supplies and care this weekend through an annual event sponsored by the Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD).

The 31st annual Stand Down three-day program offers comprehensive services, aiming to help veterans get off the street and reintegrate into the community.

VVSD has been hosting their annual Stand Down event for 31 years, with the hope of guiding veterans towards a new beginning.

Stand Down is held at the San Diego High School on the 1400 block of Park Boulevard.

Veterans can receive showers, haircuts, makeovers, dental and optical services as well as new tents and access to food at the event.

There is also access to counseling, employment guidance and substance use treatment.
