If you are interested in finding a "flexible" job, a recent report lists 25 of the fastest growing flex jobs in America.
San Diego County residents have an advantage as well in that our county leads the nation in telecommuting.
The medical and health career field leads the pack with the highest number of flexible jobs across all 25 fields, the website Flexjobs.com reports.
In July, the site reports the art and creative field grew by 36 percent, education was also up 32 percent. The job category with the biggest drop in job volume was engineering with a decrease of 43 percent, Flexjobs.com said.
"We are excited to be able to release the job trends for industries that are the most active in hiring for flexible work," said Sara Sutton Fell, CEO of Flexjobs.com.
According to Flexjobs.com the following jobs have the highest growth in the flex job sector:

In San Diego, about 4.2 percent of people in 2009 telecommuted, San Francisco came in at 3.2 percent, Seattle at 3 percent and Phoenix at 2.9 percent, the North County Times reports. Other major cities such as Los Angeles and Washington have a 2.6 percent telecommute rate.
The study done by researchers in Carlsbad shows the national average to be 2.3 percent.
Additionally, the Inland Empire has the sixth-highest telecommuting rate among large metropolitan areas.
