San Diego County has released a revised environmental impact report on the replacement of an all-women jail in Santee.
County officials say the report was changed because of a slew of public comments on an earlier draft regarding the Las Colinas Detention Facility, about 14 miles northeast of downtown San Diego.
The report proposes that the 1960s-era 810-bed facility is replaced and expanded with a new 1,216 bed jail because of dilapidated conditions.
The public has until Jan. 9 to file comments on the revised report.
