Sounds Like San Diego: March 6

The Psychedelic Furs rock the Belly Up Tuesday while a Bowie tribute hits Balboa Theatre

I have a friend in the Bay Area who caught the Celebrating David Bowie show over the weekend and was adamant that if anyone has the chance to catch the tour, they should -- so I'm pretty much going to spend the day calling in favors and trying to wrangle a couple tickets. They're not just any tribute band, but feature several artists who've played and worked with Bowie over the years, and as they've made their way across the country, a rotating cast of guests have joined them on stage. There are still a handful of tickets if you want to experience what I'm told is a phenomenal show. Meanwhile, the Psychedelic Furs play a sold-out show at the Belly Up, and 311 and Save Ferris are sold out at House of Blues. If you're looking to party (but on a smaller scale), Pimps of Joytime are boisterous and will fill the tiny Casbah stage with massive energy. If you're looking to get out on a Tuesday, you certainly have options.
