It's November and that means it's time to order a pie from Mama's Kitchen.
Thousands of caring San Diegans gladly shell out $20 for a Pecan, Apple, sugar-free Apple or Pumpkin pie each year.
They do so knowing they'll not only get to enjoy a special treat come Thanksgiving Day but in the process help Mama's Kitchen help out those in need.
This is the 21st year this grass-roots non-profit has sold pies to raise money to help those with HIV or cancer.
The proceeds are used to provide nutritious meals that are delivered free to those suffering from either disease.
You can go on-line to order a pie then pick it up at any of 20 locations around the county prior to Thanksgiving. You can also volunteer to become a "Pie Baker" or distributor. Get more information by clicking on this link - and let the eating begin.
