Llarisa Abreu is the weekend Weather Anchor for NBC 7 San Diego. She also occasionally fills-in for their sister station Telemundo 20.
Llarisa started her broadcasting career at The Accuweather Network. It was there where she forecasted all types of severe weather events from hurricanes to the deadly tornado outbreak that tore through the central and southern parts of the US in 2014. She also covered the blizzard that struck the Midwest and Northeast January 2016. Recently, she did wall to wall coverage on the weather conditions during the Lilac Fire which tore through Eastern San Diego last December. She has spent time both in front of and behind the camera. She uses this knowledge and experience to deliver effective forecasts to help you get your day started.
Recently, she was nominated as the Best Meteorologist in San Diego by The San Diego Union-Tribune. In 2019 she received her first Emmy Award for team coverage on San Diego wildfires where she was the meteorologist on duty.
Llarisa got her start interning at NBC Miami. She landed her first production job at Univision. A Barry University graduate, Llarisa earned her degree in broadcast journalism. Currently, she is working on her second degree in Meteorology through Mississippi State University. She enjoys indoor cycling, live music and trying new restaurants with her fiancé and puppy.
