Lauren Coronado joined the NBC 7 San Diego team in July 2019. When she’s not working with a photographer, she writes, shoots and edits her own stories. You might catch her filling in as a weather-anchor, too!
Before moving to San Diego, Lauren worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor for KESQ; the ABC, CBS, and FOX affiliate in Palm Springs. While in Palm Springs she covered a variety of stories, including; the Borderline Bar and Grill shooting in Thousand Oaks, followed by the Woolsey fire that burned 96,000 acres in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
Prior to her time in Palm Springs, Lauren was a news assistant at KABC in Los Angeles. She worked the overnight assignment desk and tracked breaking news stories for the morning newscasts.
While working at KABC she was a freelance reporter for the London based news agency, GRN Live, which represents a community of journalists who report breaking news for international news outlets. She was also a freelance reporter for ABC Radio New York. She interviewed a variety of musicians and covered Dick Clark’s Rocking New Year’s Eve Party.
Lauren earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication, with an emphasis in Journalism, from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She got her start in Broadcast Journalism during an intern abroad program in London and shortly after interned with ABC News Los Angeles for the remainder of her undergraduate career.
