Jeanette Quezada is a bilingual reporter for NBC 7 and Telemundo 20. Before arriving in San Diego, she first began her television news career at the NBC Dallas-Fort Worth KXAS newsroom with the news assignment desk and production department. Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the Texas Christian University’s Bob Schieffer College of Communication, she was promoted to a consumer investigative producer. Then she ventured to KEZI 9 News in Eugene, Oregon as a multiplatform reporter, anchor-reporter for KBAK in Bakersfield, California, and a reporter for KJRH in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jeanette’s broad coverage spans virtually all topics and breaking news including the COVID-19 pandemic, wildfires, earthquakes, immigration, and the mass shooting at St. Francis Hospital. With a concentration on human interest, she produced special reports about St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Tennessee promoting a fundraising campaign for childhood cancer treatment and cures.
With strong integrity, Jeanette believes in the duty and responsibility of the press. While honoring the foundations of professional journalism, structures of effective technique and storytelling, she recognizes our history is woven by a broadcast tapestry of events, people, and ideas. She believes stories transcend generations, emotions, and backgrounds - they connect us as a society. Her goal is to use journalism as a platform to enrich, educate, and inform all viewers.
Jeanette was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas and has visited many corners of the world. She feels fortunate to have spent an extended time in Italy for a study abroad program, where she became fluent in Italian. Although a native Texan, she’s Italian at heart. She loves her new San Diego home along with its vibrant community. In her spare time, Jeanette enjoys the arts like literature, music, cinema, outdoor activities like exercising and adventures, exploring the city of San Diego, while spending plenty of time with friends and family.
