Born in San Jose Costa Rica, Francella relocated with her family to Los Angeles when she was a young girl and has since proudly declared Southern California her home.
Over the last 20 years Francella has dedicated herself to serving the community, beginning in LA where she produced and presented weather segments for Telemundo and Mundo Fox. In addition, she also proudly served as co-host of Telemundo’s morning show Acceso Total and Mundo Fox's entertainment show Viva el 22.
In 2016 Francella and her family made the move to San Diego where she served as Sr. Meteorologist for KUSI’s morning and evening newscasts. She has since returned to NBC/Telemundo and now serves San Diego’s diverse English and Spanish speaking viewership.
Francella holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in English Literature from UCLA and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Geoscience & Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. Certified in GeoScience and Broadcast Meteorology, she is also a member of the National Weather Association and has in the past served as an NWA Weather Ambassador.
Having been an aerobics instructor for over 10 years, Francella enjoys staying active. She likes to run, workout, loves taking Zumba classes, and loves to dance Salsa. She is also no stranger to the outdoors and takes full advantage of the vast network of North County's beaches and hiking trails.
Francella is a seasoned Meteorologist who is passionate about weather and what it means for the viewers she ostensibly serves.
She currently lives in Carlsbad with her husband and two children.
