Angelica Campos joined the NBC 7 and Telemundo 20 team, as a meteorologist in January 2024.
Angelica came from KGTV where she was the main evening meteorologist for 8 years. Before moving to San Diego, Angelica worked at WJW Fox 8 in Cleveland, Ohio for 5 years as a morning meteorologist covering everything from severe weather to lake effect snow.
Angelica started her career in 2007 in State College, Pennsylvania at AccuWeather working as a bilingual meteorologist forecasting for tv stations all around the country. At AccuWeather she gained national and international weather experience. Angelica was a guest meteorologist tracking winter storms, hurricanes, and severe weather on several national networks such as Fox Business, Fox News, Bloomberg, ABC World, ABC News, and CBS News. She also provided weather analysis for Spanish speaking stations in Puerto Rico, Univision Fresno, Univision Monterrey, and Univision San Francisco.
Angelica earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences, and Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University, she also holds a degree in Mass Communications from the University of West Georgia. She is a member of the National Weather Association, and the Hispanic Journalist Association.
Angelica was born in San Jose, Costa Rica. She is very proud of her heritage and of being bilingual. Angelica is excited to cover storms and all things weather for both NBC 7 and Telemundo 20.
Angelica and her family are fitness enthusiasts. They love the outdoors, sports, and being part of the San Diego community. You can find Angelica running or doing triathlons around the county all year round. Angelica is a member of Team Hoyt San Diego, running with athletes with disabilities and spreading the love for inclusivity.
Angelica is a military wife, and mother of two boys. She has two dogs, a Rottweiler named Jasmine, and a maltase-poodle named Nimbus.
