Adonis Albright reports on weekend mornings on NBC 7. He is an Emmy-nominated journalist who is passionate about covering impactful stories in the community.
He joined NBC in August 2022. He is a San Diego native who was previously a reporter, producer, and anchor at KYMA News 11 in Yuma, Arizona.
He got his start in journalism as a production assistant at KUSI, as well as enrolling in the award-winning Newscene program at San Diego City College.
During his two-year tenure at KYMA News 11, Adonis covered several stories including the migrant crisis at the Yuma border, the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the tragic Santee plane crash in 2021. His coverage of the incident was nominated for a Rocky Mountain Emmy Award.
Adonis boasts a wide variety of skillsets in the newsroom, having worked as a reporter, producer, and anchor. He takes pride in being versatile and filling various roles to provide the best news coverage he can.
Adonis Albright earned his bachelor's degree in Communications from San Diego State University. As a San Diego native, he enjoys being able to be back home doing what he loves: chasing news stories that matter most to his community. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and attending music festivals.
