The U.S. Women’s World Cup team may be making all the headlines, but another team from the United States has had a successful week across the pond.
The U.S. Paralympic Soccer team beat Argentina 4-1 in their final match of the 2015 Cerebral Palsy World Championships in England to clinch a berth to the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games.
Team captain and Chula Vista native David Navarro Garza lead the way with two goals for the U.S. The 22-year old put his team on the board with a penalty kick in the 30th minute after Argentine goalkeeper Gustavo Nahuelquin got a red card for kicking U.S. player Adam Ballou.
Garza, who is an Army Senior Cadet and will graduate from California State University Dominguez Hills next May, scored again on a free kick in the 59th minute. Seth David Jahn and Adam Kyle Ballou also scored for the U.S.
