A group of men robbed a Rolando family at gunpoint in the middle of the night. A teenager fought off the suspects, giving her father a chance to get away.
San Diego police said it happened at 2:21 a.m. at a home on Duchess Street. The suspects entered the house through an unlocked door.
The victim, who did not want to be identified, said there were at least three suspects and at least one of them was wearing a Halloween mask and holding a large gun. He said the suspects demanded money and jewelery, tied his hands up, told him to lie down on the ground and to keep his head down.
Meanwhile, he said another suspect went into his 18-year-old daughter's room to try to take money as well. The victim said his daughter is a black belt in Taekwondo and fought with the suspects.
The man said while his daughter was fighting with them, he broke free and ran outside. He used a neighbors phone to call 911.
The suspects left a short time later and are still on the loose. San Diego Police said they got away with money, jewelery and electronics.
No one required any serious medical attention.
