An armed suspect robbed a Wal-Mart in Oak Park Saturday evening, according to San Diego police.
A report came in just before 6:30 p.m. that shots were fired at a Wal-Mart Supercenter store located at 3412 College Ave, near College Grove Drive.
According to SDPD Officer David Stafford, the robbery suspect entered the store with a handgun, demanded cash from the returns counter and fired one shot.
"I didnt' know which way to go, and then I see everyone going that way," said witness Julia Martinez, who was there with her son. "And he's like, 'Mom, I'm scared, I'm scared, I'm scared.' And I'm like, 'Baby, it's OK. I'm not going to let nothing happen.'"
Stafford said the suspect then fled the scene in a dark Ford Mustang.
On Tuesday, San Diego police released surveillance images of the suspect standing behind the clerks holding a weapon.
The suspect is described as an African American man in his 30s and was wearing a black hat and dark jeans at the time of the robbery.
No injuries were reported.
The SDPD's Robbery Division is investigating the incident.
