A fire that started at an Otay Mesa junkyard is still smoldering as of 10 p.m., Friday night.
The fire was reported around 5:30 p.m. on 939 Heritage Road in Otay Mesa. San Diego Fire-Rescue Department responded to the fire along with the Chula Vista Fire Department and the National City Fire Department.
The fire damaged two buisness, according to fire officials.
The fire started in a garage with three cars, which then spread to other cars in the junkyard, according to officials.
There is toxic material reported in the junkyard from, oil, tires, and gas from cars.
Firefighters are currently assessing the damage.
