Oceanside police arrested a man on Monday in connection with a murder that occurred more than two months ago.
According to police, 28-year-old Tyree Paschall was taken into custody for the murder of 47-year-old Oceanside resident Crain Conaway, who was found dead in her home on the 1400 block of Marquette Street in Oceanside on the night of January 21.
A friend of Conaway’s had asked police to conduct a welfare check on her because she hadn’t been heard from in several days. When police went to Conaway’s home at 11:40 p.m. that night, they found her dead with signs of trauma to her body.
Police said their ongoing investigation since the homicide led them to arrest Paschall on Monday. He has been in the Vista Detention Facility on a parole violation since January 30.
Paschall’s arraignment has been scheduled for April 4 in Vista Court.
A motive for the murder has not been released and police do not believe the crime is gang-related.
