Man Fires Shots Into Air Near Wal-Mart

No one was injured, officials said

Chula Vista police are investigating an overnight incident involving a young man who allegedly fired a gun into the air in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart.

According to officials, the shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. near the Wal-Mart located at 1360 Eastlake Parkway.

An 18-year-old man allegedly pointed a gun into the air and fired, but didn’t shoot at anyone. Officials say the suspect then fled the scene in a white PT Cruiser that had paper plates.

Officials say the car was also occupied by another man and possibly two women.

No one was injured, but the Chula Vista Police Department is now searching for the suspect.
