A mako shark was hooked by a fisherman during last week's "Flying Mako Catch and Release" tournament in San Diego.
On Friday, July 20, Keith Langford captured the video below of a mako shark on a line 10 miles off the coast of La Jolla.
The purpose of the tournament is to "promote sustainability, conservation and sound management of mako sharks and other apex predators," according to the website.
The mako was released from the fisherman's line after it jumped seven times.
