A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with an oncoming SUV who said he did not see the motorcycle ahead, El Cajon Police said.
The incident happened at the intersection of E Washington Avenue and Lincoln Avenue at approximately 4:38 p.m. Wednesday, officials said.
The motorcycle was heading West on Washington at the time of the crash, police said.
The SUV, traveling east on Washington, was preparing to turn north onto Lincoln. The driver of the crash said he did not see the oncoming motorcycle and entered its path.
Police said they believe the speed and driving behavior of the moorcycle rider may have been a factor in the collision after looking at witness statemnets and evidence recovered at the scene.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead on scene despite lifesaving efforts to revive him. The two people in the car were not injured.
The identity of the motorcyclist has bot been released.
