More than two decades have passed since an 84-year-old woman was sexually assaulted and stabbed to death in her San Diego home, but the disturbing murder case remains unsolved.
Cold case detectives with the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) are still searching for answers in the cold case killing of Angela Kleinsorge.
Kleinsorge lived alone at a home in the 5600 block of Gaines Street in west Mission Valley. She was last seen alive on Feb. 28, 1992, when she spoke to her daughter on the phone.
The next morning, Kleinsorge’s daughter went to check on her and stumbled upon a grisly scene. Kleinsorge had been stabbed to death in her home and sexually assaulted, police said.
Detectives believe an unknown suspect entered Kleinsorge’s home through an open window and attacked her. Twenty four years later, however, there have been no arrests in her murder.
Anyone with information should contact the SDPD’s Cold Case Homicide Team at (619) 531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477. Tipsters may be eligible for a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
