A 15-year-old Chula Vista girl survived a home burglary Tuesday by staying calm, acting fast, hiding and calling police.
At about 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Chula Vista Police Dispatch received a 911 call from the teenage girl, who was home alone in the 100 block of Avenida Altamira.
The teen said someone had knocked on her door and then opened a window to her house. While speaking with the dispatcher, police say the girl heard people enter her house, so she hid upstairs in a closet.
Police say the teen was scared, but remained remarkably composed during the 911 call. She gave the dispatcher information while the suspects were still inside ransacking the home.
At one point, while she was still on the phone with dispatch, one suspect entered the closet in which she was hiding, but did not see her.
When officers arrived at the scene, three suspects were loading items stolen from the home into a vehicle parked on the street.
All three suspects were arrested after the teenage victim identified the items stolen from the house. Detectives and crime lab officials also helped in the investigation.

Police say two of the suspects were 17-year-old juveniles. The third suspect was identified as El Cajon resident Robin Sadik, 18.
Sadik was booked into San Diego Central Jail on multiple charges, including burglary. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. The younger suspects were taken to Juvenile Hall.
Police believe the suspects are responsible for other burglaries in the area. Officers discovered additional stolen property inside their vehicle. The car was also determined to be recently stolen from El Cajon.
The investigation is ongoing and Chula Vista detectives are searching for other potential burglary victims tied to these suspects.
