The San Diego County Medical Examiner has identified a woman struck and killed by a car on Monday.
According to the ME report, 66-year-old Erlinda Lipa Ortin was crossing Clairemont Mesa Boulevard in Tierrasanta at 7:40 a.m. That’s when a Toyota Camry hit the victim, according to the report.
The ME said Ortin did not cross at a marked crosswalk. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
San Diego police officers closed a portion of the road to traffic after the accident happened.
The crash happened just south of De Portola Middle School. Aerial pictures showed a body lying in the street and a gray car with damage to its hood.
