A car fire sent out huge plumes of smoke over Interstate 805 in the University City area Tuesday.
Two lanes of the southbound I-805 were blocked at Governor Drive as crews extiguished the blaze.
The fire started just after 4 p.m., and it was put out by 5:30 p.m. Crews now must clean up melted debris strewn across the road.
No Sig Alert was issued, the California Highway Patrol says, and no injuries were reported.
