The 20-year-old son of actor Robert Downey Jr. was charged Sunday afternoon with felony cocaine possession and drug paraphernalia, officials said.
Deputies said they stopped a suspicious vehicle in the West Hollywood area around 2.20 p.m. Sunday, according to the Los Angeles Sheriffβs Department.
Indio Downey, the sole passenger in the vehicle, was allegedly under the influence of drugs when deputies contacted him, said Sgt. Valentine. Downey was allegedly found with cocaine and drug paraphernalia in his possession.

The actor's son was arrested and booked into jail at the West Hollywood station, officials said. Downey made the $10,250 bail and was released from jail around 12:20 a.m. Monday.
The "Iron Man" star, who suffered his own battle with drug use, issued a statement Monday.
"Unfortunately there's a genetic component to addiction and Indio has likely inherited it. Also, there is a lot of family support and understanding, and we're all determined to rally behind him and help him become the man he's capable of being," Downey said. "We're grateful to the Sheriff's department for their intervention, and believe Indio can be another recovery success story instead of a cautionary tale."
