Olympic Ice Dancers Charlie White and Tanith Belbin Are Engaged

For those of you hoping that maybe Charlie White and Meryl Davis were more than friends and Olympic champion ice dancers...

Sorry. But this is still fairy-tale-caliber news.

White, 26, is engaged to girlfriend Tanith Belbin, 29, the Sochi gold medalist taking to Instagram on Tuesday to share the happy news and a pic of his newly short-haired self with his beaming fiancee (and her gleaming diamond ring).

Davis was one of the first to congratulate her longtime partner on the ice, tweeting, "Congrats to these two! Beautiful girl, beautiful [diamond ring emoji]! Good work @CharlieaWhite."

White first opened up about his love life while he and Davis were competiting on "Dancing With the Stars," revealing that he had been dating Belbin, a former ice dancer, for five years. He said that Belbin was uniquely able to understand the constant are-they-or-aren't-they questions that come with being part of a pair.

"She won the silver medal in 2006 with her partner Ben Agosto, and people were always like [to her and Ben], 'Are you guys dating?'" White told People in March. "It's just something you get as dancers. [Her understanding] makes my life so much easier."
